I guess I'm also in the minority. I've been happy with the stock Pirelli's, they seem predictable to me in a variety of weather and road conditions. (GT/5-speed/17's)

I've never had Pirelli's on my stang but my dad has had them for the two years he has had his car and no problems.

Do you have any abnormal wear on either of the rear tires and how much tread is remaining?

I'm pretty impressed considering these are stock tires, I've had zero problems with them.

The stock bfg aren't very good either. And I drive a v6. I went to cross an intersection (in the rain) and I hit the gas and sat there for about 2-3secs spinning the tires then they caught but kept spinning all the way across the intersection. I barely even touched the gas. Im scared of the rain now.

Well, I don't think I fall into the category of not knowing how to drive in the rain. I've been through driving both front & rear wheel drive in snow in Colorado, I've driven a pickup truck in MI on icy roads (which, for anyone who lives there, has a VERY good idea of how difficult that can be), and I've driven through Mammoth during a blizzard in a FWD Saturn at about 10-15 mph. So, driving in the rain in SoCal is a piece of cake for me compared to these other conditions.

I just shouldn't be experiencing loss of traction when I'm not full throttling it up an onramp that's at a 5% or less grade. The last car I had, I'd put Yokohama Parada Spec 2's on it. THOSE things stuck in the rain. These Pirellis haven't been abused (I did ONE burnout on them, lasting less than 5 sec, and those tires have been rotated to the fronts now), and they just seem really hard compound tires with no water movement across them.

I'm thinking about maybe going to a Yokohama S.Drive or some Toyo Proxes as replacements...

Zero problems with my P-Zero tires. Of course I've only driven the car in the rain a few times in 9,000 miles. But I am aware of this bad rep so I always watch it very closely in the rain.

The KDWSs that came on my car were good. I recently replaced them (35K miles) with Michelin Pilot Sport A/Ss - WOW, what an improvment, both in snow and rain. Now I know why they cost more. Also very smooth & quiet on dry roads.
