Default Trans leak found

Took my car back in today (originally took it on Saturday, but when they discovered where the leak was, I had to bring it back). It ended up being the Torque converter seal, so they had to drop the trans to replace. Heritage Ford in Wesley Chapel, Florida (just north of Tampa) took good care of me. I didn't buy my car there, but they still gave me a loaner car for the day and had my car done by 2. I guess normally they dont give loaners, but the service tech knew I was pi$$ed that they had to drop the trans ona car with 3,300 miles on it. So I recommend Heritage Ford to anyone in the Tampa area.

On a side note, any chance that my b@ma tune could have caused this leak to happen?

You're joking right? No no tune is going to cause a seal to leak. You just got a bad seal.

You're the guy I talked to a few weeks ago and we both had our cars in for a red fluid leaking. Guess what... Mine's leaking again too![:@][:@][:@]

I have to take mine in again. I'm going to print this out and take it to the dealer since we probably have the same problem as you... AND they appearantly didn't fix/couldn't find the problem last time. Ugh here we go again! These problems just keep putting off getting my tune! Its killing me to see my intake in a box next to me!

Glad you got it fixed, and no the tune wouldn't have anything to do with it.

How did you know the trans was leaking? I have a little oil residue on the bottom of my trans. It doesn't drip or puddle, but if you touched it, you'd get oil on your hand.

a 2007 shouldn't have any fluid leaking, none whatsoever you should bring that to the dealership.

I guess I'll have to do that next week sometime.

I had the same red tranny fluid leak due to a bad seal (6K miles), and a local dealer fixed it under warranty and apologized for my inconvenience even though I bought my car at another dealer.
**** like this can always happen on a new car- even to a Mercedes or Bimmer- and that's why I feel my warranty is so important.
