I wish I could find a steering wheel exactly the same minus the emblem. I feel too ashamed to put that in my car when it's not a Cobra. LOL
It will be minus the emblem, unless you buy one with the airbag assembly. The ones I see on ebay and in the Ford parts catalog are just the wheel.
That completely went over my head when thinking about it, good call.

Not sure where you got the other pic from, but this is the actual steering wheel. Notice the two little bumps in the 2 and 10 o'clock positions... Also that is what you would purchase, and you would re-use your center piece and airbag of course... So no snake

Not that I am real interested in it, but couldnt you remove the stock wheel and just prep and paint the silver parts semi-gloss black? I would think you would get a similar look alot cheaper.

Are you talking about to make it look like the GT500? If so, the GT500 is fully wrapped in leather, also it has the two bumps in the 2 and 10 o'clock positions which gives it a sportier feel/look.

Boozshey: Yeah I am saying to make it look similar. I have a GT Premium with the upgrade so I have leather wraped all ready. I agree it wont be 100% like it but it would be way cheaper.

Also if you didnt have the IUP I am sure you could get a leather wraped one out of a wrecked stang for next to nothing. Just a thought to save some $$, I like the silver personally because my car is silver. I just tell people it is color matched

Anyone ditch the stock steering wheel for an aftermarket like Grant of Fitipaldi? I used to do this when I was younger, but dont know if I could get rid of my airbag now (My older cars never had one to begin with)
a properly sized resistor would turn off the airbag light, and yes it is legal. The car has to be sold with airbags, but the owner can remove them if they so choose. I haven't seen an adaptor for the 05+, but I would bet they are out there.
