Question about door locks...
Yesterday I was at my friend's house to pick her up and I left my car running. I had unlocked both doors to get out of the car (just out of habit), and I got out, shutting the door behind me. However, when I returned to my car, I found that both doors were locked...with the car still running and both of my keys inside. Has anyone ever had this happen to them, or does anyone know why this happened? Thanks for your time.

Wow, I really like that, partsbill. We ended up using a slim jim to get in, my dad works at a metal shop and he made one in about 10 minutes, came out and unlocked it with that. It was still frustrating as all hell though.

RE: Question about door locks...
bought the key pad from Ford it's part# 7L2Z 14A626-BA
retails for $85.00, it's RF modulated just like your key fob, you program it the same way, no wires to run, it attaches using 3M tape.

RE: Question about door locks...
I thought that on days that I go to the beach with my kids it would be nice to be able to hide and lock my keys in the car so that I didn't have to keep up with them, the key pad is great for that, also there have been times when I'm outside in the yard and I wanted in my car but I didn't have my keys with me, not worried about someone stealing the keypad, you can't see it.
