Just got my Hurst installed!

Just got my Hurst installed!
Had some time yesterday afternoon to get it put in.
For anyone who is going to do this install themselves, here are two tips that you might find helpful:
1) The install instructions I got from Hurst were incorrect. They stated to put the offset (long side) of the shifter linkage block towards the passenger side. THIS IS WRONG! It is very clear that this is incorrect when you look at the OEM shifter. Apparently, Hurst has had to correct their instructions - but the version I got was obviously old.
2) I found that it was much easier to install the rubber dust boot with the shifter out of the car. Then I fed the entire shifter through the hole, wiggled it around until it was in the right spot, and then fed the shifter handle back up through the hole. I tried the way the instructions said, but apparently I lack the "finesse" that they call for. Doing it this way also made getting the dust boot in the right place really easy. Obviously, if you are going to drop the DS to do this install, then ignore this.
Anyway, on to the pics. First two are stock shifter in 1st and 2nd gear...
Now the Hurst in 1st and 2nd...

Its screamin for a Black ball.

I hear they get dirty quick, from some forum members posts.

Can't beat the Hurst for the price. You fed the shifter through the tiny hole in the dust boot? I never thought about it, but it'd probably be easiest to put the shifter through the floorboard, then put the dust boot on, then line the shift up from underneath. I did 2 of them and never thought about that. It's a pain putting the dust boot on after the shifter is in place. Hrmm..

The Hurst is a badass shifter ... love mine. I installed 2 Hurst shifters and did them both from underneath ... didn't have a problem what so ever ... guess I lucked out. I vote black ball btw[8D]

nice hurst!! it looks good with the stock shift handle, but the white it just so much better!! keep the white one, its easy to keep clean if you just wipe it off when it gets a few smudges on it. i'm a full time mechanic so its safe to say that my hads arent allways clean when driving the stang, but as all you need is a towel to wipe it off.
