GRANATELLI COLD AIR INTAKE????
I am trying to decide on a CAI for my 07 GT stick. I have narrowed it down to the C&L or the GMS... I liked the idea that the Granatelli comes with the new calibrated MAF so you dont have to re-flash. The way I feel, is if I dont have to mess with the computer, then why do it..
But after reading some posts, a lot of people seem to really dislike GMS.. I was just wondering why????
Also, is there anyone out there running the GMS CAI that really likes it?????
Thanks for all the info

You really need a tune/reflash to benefit
performance wise from a CAI.
Unless you are just going for looks....
ThenI would go forthe WMS intake and MAF.

How can Granatelli post that video on their website and show a dyno increase of 28rwhp? Does anyone actually have some dyno numbers to prove or disprove? For any intakes for that matter???

I love mine I did not do dyno but it made the car came alive. The tires break lose from a roll and the car has a lot more response then it had before. You guys can kill me for saying this but its a great product for $300 The car just pulls harder and if i have to go to the dealer it takes no more then 10 min to put back to stock.I carry the stock intake with a screw driver & 10mm wrench in the trunk.

Ditto on all of that. I went with it for a number of reasons, first was that it required no tune (didn't have a tuner yet). The second was that there was a number of ways to use it; as-is with the recalibrated MAF, put the stock MAF back in with a tuner, cast-in boss for a NO2 nozzle if you want to go that way. I also like that you basically have 4 options with it, polished or natural finish and with or without the recalibrated MAF.
Now, that all being said, I bought the natural finish with the recalibrated MAF and I too never had it dynoed with that setup but the gain was VERY noticeable. 28 rwhp gain? probably not, but I'd feel confident in saying it produced at least as much rwhp as any other no-tune CAI and probably more. IMHO, one of the few truly good items that Grantelli makes. Is it the best, yes and no. I'd say yes for a no-tune set-up if you never plan on adding a tuner. If you do plan on adding a tuner at a later date I'd say to go with the new C&L street intake since they now offer a sleeve so that it can be run with no tune and removed later for the tune. If they had offered that a year ago I'd have gone with it.
I'm perfectly happy with my GMS CAI though and will only remove it when I go FI next year. If you can wait till next summer, I'll make you a heck of a deal on it.

RE: GRANATELLI COLD AIR INTAKE????
I have since gone with a tune with my GMS CAI. I had it on the car for about 8 months without a tune and it was a very nice improvement over stock and never any check engine lights. Don't have numbers to prove how much improved, but I was very happy with it. The MAF was removed when I got the custom dyno tune and I am very happy with it as well. No negative issues either way. I just regret not getting the polished model.

RE: GRANATELLI COLD AIR INTAKE????
I just don't understand why someone would spend $300 on a CAI that isn't tuned, ya I know that the MAF is changed out but, honestly once you have just the CAI and then get a tune later on you got to ask yourself why didn'tI just spend $200 more in the first place. Like some have said here and you can read in the other 1million CAI vs. Tune theads around here, go with the CAI and tune. You won't regret it.
