RE: paddle shifters
my wifes 06 miata has them, its ok,but not very practicle for every day use,we have used them maybe 6 times the 2 years we have had the car.her tranny is auto/peddle shift/manual just depending on where you put the shifter, needless to say its in auto 99.9% of the time.

No offense, but IMO there is no fun in an auto sports car... i cant even see enjoying that in any form.[8D]

The set up I saw at the Queen Mary show does require you to depress the clutch. The idea was you can shift as fast as you can work the clutch, the servo motors that shift the tranny are faster than any human could possibly shift a stick. I think they would very cool on a car meant for road racing.

if they had them for a manual tranny would you still have to press the cluth?

omg if the stang had paddle shifters it would open up a whole new world... road course dominance imo from focusing on steering. Dang, what a concept.

qft paddle shifters on the stang would make the whole road course thing unfair. i heard paddle shifters on a mustang would beat a z06 on the road course
