Alloy V6 - Alum. Rear Louver? Paint to match?
Just gobbled up my new Pony a month ago, and I don't have a ton of money to spend, but I want to make her unique given the ridiculous number of Mustangs in South Florida. I've seen very few side louvers, and no one at all with a rear louver around Palm Beach County, so I figured that'd be the place to start (relatively) cheaply.
Which brings me to my questions:
Has anyone here had a negative experiance with either the plastic or aluminum louvers? Since pricing is so close is there any reason that the aluminum isn't worth it for the added durability?
If I plan on using black rims down the line on the car, is it worth painting the Louver to match the car, or would it look better as an accent black. Or would it make a difference at all since under 90% of conditions the car looks black anyway? I know this is more personal preference, but I'm SLIGHTLY color blind when it comes to distinguishing close shades...and I actually thought the car was black when I bought it since it was in a low light garage. Love the color when I can see the difference, but I'm behind the curve when it comes to the rest of the population.
I plan on dropping a clearcoat on it regardless to give it a nice shine. And if I should go ahead and paint it to match, where would the best place to find the matching paint be?
Thanks for the help in advance. Oh and a pic of the new girl:

Congrats on your Stang. I think the alunimum louvers look much better than the plastic ones. I've seen both, and the plastic ones just look cheap. I'd also keep them black, but that's just my preference.

I'm obviously biased but I think keeping them black is the way to go. I also prefer the aluminum. I think the plastic ones look a little too bulky. Just an opinion though. Post pics when you get them.

So, now I'm torn. The Astra Hammond alluminum look nice, but so do the MRT's. Astra Hammond Alums are about 1/2 the price of the MRT...
Is there any signifigant quality difference between the two? Everything I've been able to find regarding them is pretty much opinion without either having many (if any) complaints on quality. Or am I just getting lucky finding a good price for the Astra's on Amazon?
