Hey... I'm new to this stuff. But how come stock GT's only dyno at 265ish at the rear like someone said? Is Ford over-repping the HP? Or do manufacturer's use a different measurement system than the typical dyno?
DarkFireGT, a member here, uses the same shop I do and has always gotten good readings, but while talking to a friend today, they heard of people getting parts stolen from that shop before.

Car manufacturers use crank HP, which is where the 300 comes from. The dynos give you a HP reading with the losses included from the drivetrain. Thus RWHP, which is what these numbers being quoted are from.
Ahh thanks that makes sense. Thanks for explanation howarmat. I suppose that's why everyone adopted the SAE HP standards because some manufacturers (Honda/Acura) were over-representing their HP by factoring in the fact that a front-engine FWD drivetrain loses less power than a RWD car? Or at least one of the reasons.
