I did sorta the same thing. I had just gotten a new front bumper cause i had a small fender bender. On the way home an old sation wagon slung a hub cap in the opposite lane and I scattered it. It left a small cut in the very center of my bumper. I was so ticked, but it wasn't big enough to warrent my deductible and sitting in the shop for another week lol.

 

So I'm assuming based on your details that you didn't stop to see what you actually hit? So possibly whatever you hit could have been suffering on the side of the road. Or maybe you just clipped it and it could have been saved by taking it to an animal hospital? All I'm saying is that maybe you should have stopped to see what it was and if you could help it (or put it out of it's misery) instead of rushing home to see how bad your bumper was. Just my .02

 

Where is the crack? If it's in the centerthe CDC Agressive cut-away piece may take that away anyway. ...just a thought for $225 + Free Shipping.

Warranty, no way, insurance yes. If you're still making payments on the car you will have comprehensive coverage meaning it covers any incidents to your car, your fault or not. What you want to find out is if your insurance will go up for just one incident. Also, if your deductible is $500 or more you may be better off just fixing it yourself and not bothering with the insurance company.

Like I said, it may count as an incident. Depending on your insurance your rates may go up after the first one or it may take a couple to make it go up.
