Window tint question
Ok here in Hell I mean Michigan, it is illegal to put any window tint on the front windows, the place that is doing it for me suggested a light tint for the front windows and dark for the rear glass and small rear windows, do you think 2 different shades of tint will look OK??

RE: Window tint question
It's the same law here in California that your windshield and front driver/passenger windows cannot be tinted. Not everyone follows that rule (i.e. they get tinting all around) but you occasionally see people with just the back and rear passenger windows tinted and it doesn't look bad.
I was thinking about having my back window and the quarter panels tinted as well, I think it would look pretty good.

RE: Window tint question
In San Diego, CA, I went to a place called Hot Spot tinting (if someone wants the info, PM me and I'll grab the receipt...) - they did a fantastic job. They did all of it for $125, if I remember correctly; darker tint for the rear and quarters, and a lighter tint for the front two windows. It looks great, and it's not so obvious that the cops will pull you over for a fixit ticket.
Yes, the law is no tint on the front windows, but it looks so much better. I say do it.

RE: Window tint question
I got a high percent tinting, fairly over the legal limit, on all windows cept for the windshield -- in Florida you can also tint the top half of the windshield, but it looks really stupid. The reason I love tinting is that it really blocks the sun out in sunny Florida -- highly recommend it! If you get ticketted, roll down both front windows right away -- traffic stops are a high stress point for cops and they want to see what's going on inside your car -- they will appreciate that. Tinting is sorta cheap so do what you want. I wouldn't go overboard though -- don't use reflective mirror tint so the cop can see his face in your window. That's asking for it I think.
(my tinting was done on an Alero, don't own a Mustang yet)
