Default Removing Headrest and Headrest embroidery?

I have a 07black GT and want to get my headrest embroidered with my intials, but how do you do this? I have seen the wraps and don't like them. Is there a way to remove the headrest and then remove the leather from the actual headrest to take to a embroider? Any help or Info? Thanks

I have the same question.

How much do you think it'd cost, also?

Those of you who know me can guess what I'd have printed on them. lol.

You will need to remove the head rest from the car then take them to an upholstery shop who will disassemble them. You will then have to take the flat portion of material to the person you want to do the embroidery work. I looked into this and it was going to be around 150.00 combined. The thing that stopped me is the upholstery shop said there was no way they could match the exact same holes from the factory and you might be able to see that.

the head rests can be removed... they have a small hole at the point where they enter the seats that you need to depress with a small tool (flat head screwdriver for instance).... you can also get "wraps" that go around the headrests.....

a bit easier and proably less costly...

I have another idea.

Would it be possible to print or stamp a picture onto the headrest like with some sort of ink or dye?

You can use a method of screenprinting to do leather/vinyl... Unlike the usual screenprint method of the heat press, its a little more extensive. The graphics printed usually either don't hold up as much (crack), or come off / bleed with the other ink. Something like a High school team jacket usually has this method of print, if you have one you can look and see how it's holding up.

Still though, it'd be alot of work to position it and get it printed.

thanks!

I think it would be worth it. The "printed" look would be cool.

Wouldn't the stitching on the headrest make it unfomfortable on the back of your head?

I have been making vinyl pony decals for leather headrests. They seem to work just fine. I haven't had any one complain. If you ever want to sell your car, then you can just take them off.
