Yeah some cops are just jerks...

I got a ticket in my Mustang going 75 in a 70 in Iowa on their interstate.[:@]
That dispells the "5 mph" rule of thumb I use then

My first ticket in the Stang was 83 in a 55. I was heading home from Mammoth Lakes, CA to Reno, NV. Just before Topaz Lake there a passing lane. As the lane is ending, you're going around a slight curve and decline in the road, and you can't see what's coming around in the opposite direction. I was following a semi, a couple of cars, a cop, and another car. I kept popping out and looking into the on coming lane for a passing opportunity, because 35 in *** zone just doesn't cut it for me. The cop pulled off, and must have yelled ahead over the radio. The passing lane came up, I bull-dozed around everyone, came around the corner, saw the cop, and instantly pulled over. I was stopped on the side of the road before he even turned on his lights and put the car into drive. I knew i was SOL. Sure as ****, he cruised on over. Bastard didn't cut me any slack either. Wrote the ticket for 83 in a 55. I ended up having to take a court-ordered8 hour safe driving class on a Saturday, which costedalmost $50, AND paying the nearly $400 ticket. That sucked my a$$....bad.

I try to keep the speed around the limit now. I've been pulled over a few times and nothing happened. I think the cops just think I'm going fast because my exhaust makes it sound that way......and they just want to check out the car. One time, the cop was asking me how much HP, and what mods, then goes on bragging about his BMW Z3. Can I sue for this?

I got my first ticket in the stang about 6 weeks after I bought it.. 84 in a 65 on I90 in Indiana, going home to Buffalo from Marshfield, Wisconsin..

Wasn't too bad, I think it cost me like $137.50 or something like that. No points because Indiana isn't a bordering state of NY (my home state).

Either way, I certainly could have used that money towards mods, rather than contributing to the income of a state I'm only in like once every year or two.. LOL
