Shaker 500 Phone Button?
I noticed on my radio that it has a Phone button, to use this, do you have to buy that $400 setup from Ford? Trying to find a way to answer a call sometimes...can't really answer the phone and shift. Only other alternative is to get a Bluetooth and wear it on my ear, if I need to take a call. Is that what you guys do?
Err, when I hit mine it says "No Phone" , if it muted the radio, it would have been pretty obvious lol.
I have a 2008 Mustang Gt, maybe that did something new?

They will sell you the
$800 add on to enable
it.
Well, thats what I figured when I hit it, that it must be some type of add on. So do you guys mostly just use Blue Tooths? Also, I guess in prior years that was a mute button? I did go online to fords accessories and there is some sort of Wireless Phone/Bluetooth set up for it looks like $400 bucks. I figured you hit that button to answer/hang up your calls, or maybe if you had a bluetooth phone you could hear the person through the speakers or something...
Well, I have an automatic, but in my truck I just hold my phone in my left hand and steer/shift with right hand... Not very often does it seem I have to steer and shift at the same time. Of course not the best idea, but thats what I do.[8D]

Almost got hit by a dude in a truck talking on a cell phone while I was in a cross walk with the right of way![
]Starting sometime in 2008 all cell phone calls must be hands free in CA. Hope that works!
best bet is to buy an aftermarket Radio tha thas bluetooth buiilt in,
this way you kill 2 birds with one stone. Decent radio and phone support
I have the pioneer DEH-P980BT and love it. I'll never go without bluetooth in the car again.
