Default Base GT Stereo Upgrade question

So I have been itching to upgrade the speakers in my GT. i got the "base" system - not a shaker, and I've picked out a pair of 6x8 2-ways (eclipse sp5700's for those who may be curious) to replace my speakers. For now, I"m only upgrading the door speakers. First question - has anyone found a good place to mount their crossovers in the door?

Also, the rears in my 07 look like a b*tch to replace... has anyone done this? I've been searching the forums for a couple of days - and people say that its difficult, but I haven't seen anyone with a suggested path of installation. If someone could point me to it, that would be great. Thanks!

I have the Crutchfield Master Sheet if you want it. Just PM me your email and I'll send it to you.

Ok, I have uploaded it to Rapidshare. It won't stay there forever, so download while you can.

Here's a link showing you how to remove those speakers in the back;

Thanks so much for that. Very helpful on the rears. If anyone needs the master sheet, PM me if the download doesn't work (if you find this searching later...)

In a word or two: holy mother of cheap sons of michigan-avenue ******.

WTF was ford thinking when they did this with the rears? This couldn't have possibly saved them that much money. Even if I go ahead with the install, I'm thinking I'm going to cut holes in the rear deck panel so I can remove my aftermarket speakers quickly when I sell this car. Why on earth would they do it this way?! [:@] (ends rant)

Could still use some tips for placing the crossovers. I haven't opened the door panel up yet. Thx!!

I wish I had some advice on the crossover placement. I just got through installing an AVIC-D3 with GPS, and including the backup camera, but I am still running on stock speakers for now.
