I was a victim of this last year on my F150.
I did not expect for that stupid gasket to stick to the block[:@].

Like you, I changed my oil hundreds of time and it happened only once. Won't happen twice though.

Nice.....I did the same thing on my wife's Explorer last year. However, I caught it early and only lost a little bit unlike the Exxon Valdez spill in your garage!!! Glad no damge was done.

JRT....what part of Richmond are you from? I'm out in the West End off Gayton Rd.

Good thing you had some cleaning up to do, before you headed out for a Ride. That could have been Ugly. But like Pascal said, lesson learned, it won't happen again.

Its amazing how 4 1/2 quart's of oil always look's like 2 gallons on the floor when your cleaning it up .....lol

Moral of the story = always clean your gasket surface before reinstallation of the new filter. I always do.

That thing must have been on there tight/really long time for the gasket to stick.
