if your top is black I'd say go with the vintage look:

I like the blackout panel on all stangs.
Also like the stripes or some otherdetail that breaks up the huge plain hood.
Go to the chop shop with more pics and they will let you see it anyway you want.
Saw a vert with a black out trunk that also caught my eye.
Half the fun is searching the possibilities!

 

I think I like the black out panel as long as your planning some further mods. It might not be enough if it's the only thing your going to do in the appearance department.
