Well driving around today. I missed 2nd gear. Guess I have to get used to pulling it over to the driver side when shifting from first. But it goes right into 3rd and 4th very smoothly and easily. I accidently put it in 4th gear instead of 2nd, I was sitting in traffic wondering why I wasn't going anywhere lol.
You'll be OK in a couple of days.
The feel is different, prolly why you missed gears.

The return springs take some getting used to for sure! I have to conciously push it left right to make sure I'm in the right gear. But it's soooooo smooth, wouldn't trade it for the world. Gives the whole shifting action a solid, hefty feel. With my new MGWI sometimes wonder ifthere's still a tremec 3650 under there .

but all excited to thread the ball on and it doesnt want to fit! [:@]but its on now! the brass insert is a little softer than the shifter threads luckily

no, the hurst ball looks good. I have a black roush ball just the same as yours. I just have the one for the 12mm stalk...same as the stock handle threads.

Hurst ball is 1.75" I believe and the new MGW black ball is 2", so yes, it is bigger than the hurst.
