I saw someone else post this in here somewhere.. maybe it will help with the VIN info.. seems like 12-17 are the production numbers.

1-3 World Manufacturing foot #?
4 restraint type
5-7 Body type
8 engine
9 check digit?
10 year
11 plant (1 being Flat Rock?)
12-17 sequence

From what I heard, Ford was starting the production numbers at 1xxxxx (12th digit starts at 1)... Not sure if that is true or not, but its a place to start

Your dealer or a call to Ford should confirm this

Default RE: Production Question

The 1 is where the car was produced.(flat rock michigan) so your car is #63641. When I posted the above info it was a little scetchy to me. But I do know now. I don't know how it works after 100,000. Is there a 1 before your 163641? It may also be different for verts. You can always call Ford and then update us.
