Default RE: Instrument Cluster upgrade

ORIGINAL: CroDalmatinac
It's my first real car which I invested around $20k in so I think I will keep it. Oh and I'm not trying to cheat anyone if I do ever decide to sell it one day, I'll just tell them that it's the mileage on the speedo, plus 22,500. Pretty simple I guess hah
Actually I do understand. My first newvehicle was a 1985 4Runner, I paid $18,000 for it. It cost more than my rent - Iwas making about $6 per hour then! I too vowed to keep it forever, and I did drive it for 15 years and 240,000 miles (I owned other vehicles in the meantime as well,) but eventually I gave in to the lure of newer and nicer and finally sold it. The kid I sold it to was so happy, I hope it gave him half the pleasure it gave me.
I drove a mint one not long ago and I cannot believe I ever thought that was so great.... Forever is a LONG time....

Blueshawk - I did the upgrade a couple of weeks ago.
Do yourself a favor.... contact Ed Olsen at Parr Ford (360) 479-1353.
Instrument Panel: $243.10, Switch: $39.62 Core Charge: $300 refundable when you ship back to Parr via DHL
Ed took care of everything. Your warranty is still good and on the right side of the law. All you need to do is tell him your mileage and vin number. You will guess-ta-mate the mileage you will use in a week and he will add that to the new speedo.
It took 10-15 minutes to install the switch and instrument panel. Ed will tell you that depending on the year of your, you have a 50-50 chance of needing an "as build" reprogram from the dealership. Mine had a tire sensor error... I don't have tire pressure sensors. Cost me an hour of labor for the local ford dealer to reprogram the instrument panel.

there is another post on this forum that someone went to a junk yard or off ebay and it ended costing him the same as if he just when and got a new one from Ed. You'll find Ed very smart about Mustangs!
