Maybe you could trade up for an '08 with some of those kinks worked out. I dn't know how much you would be looking at in addition to your car, but it seems like a good option considering that overall you are enjoying the car.

Is it Engine oil smell or transmission oil? If they've been dicking around withthe transmission in and out, there's probably oil splattered all over the underside... Go to a decent car wash and get the underside cleaned, a couple of times.... Also, as mentioned, get the motor steam cleaned/degreased.

The Whining could it be the rear? A few other guys on this forum had their rear end replaced because of Whine.

If not I don't know what to tell ya.

Wait 'till the new body freshing comes out in 2009 I think... then trade it.
Until then, as mentioned before, crack the windows and crank the shaker!

Lemon law is right... assuming you have documentation handy to photocopy... and have a friend that's a lawyer? write a nice letter and cc the local better business bureau as well as all dealerships the car was brought to that failed to repair the problems - all via registered mail. We did this and had my husbands truck fixed correctly and within a week... he came home from work to all the dealers begging him to bring his truck there so they can fix it.

If that doesn't work... go for the lemon law...

Car ownership can be tough at times. First, you should always put things in writing and keep every slip you get from a dealer and make sure your complaint is written on the form so it's clear why you brought the car in. I have personal experience of receiving a new engine and having my rental car paid for 15k miles after warranty because I brought the vehicle in no less than 6 times during warranty to have an engine knock checked.

Dealers, bless their hearts can only do what A: you will pay them to do or B: what the mfr will pay them to do. They are not philanthropists, rather they are trying to make a profit.

I hope you don't try a private sale. if you do, you must be 100% truthful with disclosure or risk a lawsuit against you if you sell a car with a known, undisclosed problem.

Good luck

I live in Canada so there is no lemon law.
As for posting on the net about the problems...it may come back to haunt me, it may not.
But if someone were to drive it, those 2 issues would be very obvious and its not like i can just dismiss it like its a minor thing.
Best thing i can hope for is trading it to a dealership and hoping that I dont get raped.

I think i might just sell and save for a 09 Camaro.

Ive always been a Chevy fan

DOn't hate hahaha
