About that darn vapor trap!
I read a few pages back that removing the vapor trap in the air cleaner hose will free up a few horses. So I removed it but havent restarted the car yet. What I need to know is....will it set the engine light off or not? I'll put the sucker back in if a couple horse is gonna cause me headaches. Does anyone know the final answer on this?

Sorry to move this to the top of the list, but after readin one guys comments about having to reflash the computer because removing the trap causes the check engine light to come on, well, I still havent driven the car since removing it, and Ide like to hear from all of you who have removed that Vapor Trap. Good news or bad.

RE: About that darn vapor trap!
The article on page 40 of the April issue of Mustang Enthusiast says removing it is worth four horsepower at the rear wheels! More like 6 or 7 at the engine, Im guessing. I'm not concerned that if i take it out and it seems to have lost power, because I can just simply put it back in. I AM worried that the check engine light might come on. I dont want to go back to the dealer to have it shut off. Kinda embarrassing dicking with a new car still under warrantee. [716 miles!] And in the same article it says at the top of the page that they dynoed a GT and it figured out to about 325 horse and 350 lbs of torque! Anyway, Ide sure like to her more experiences with the vapor trap. P.S. Love this forum!

THATS what I like to hear Blackhorse! I guess I'll drive around next weekend and see what happens. I, too have a K&N filter comming and Im curious if Ill notice any difference. Even if not, at least Ill never have to replace it. And while we're on this subject, you have to figure that companies such as K&N and Volant will be comming out with air intake systems of their own for the GT. You can bet there wont be any Vapor cans in there! And they have to flow better than the stock setup. I bet they can do that without any "reflash" needed!
