360ci build

RE: 360ci build
im glad to see your sticking with the 3v heads, i believe tha variable cam timing can really be helpful for building a stronger motor across a larger powerband. still, pretty sure the cams that are available now would produce significantly more power than without.
you could be a wonderful test subject if you dyno'd the car with the stockers and your stroker setup and then swapped for the aftermarket bump sticks.

We've done that at Kenne Bell awhile back and tried most of the cams available and with big boost FI, the gains were tiny or none at all. You hit the nail on the head in your first post... we need BIGGER cams, not just small grind variances.

RE: 360ci build
My old blower is going back to KB and I'm selling off the old motor.
We decided to go ahead and do the cams and I have a company working on an R&D custom set for me.
I'm looking to be right about 1000 hp in race trim and about 800 for daily driver street.
The final word on the new FRPP big bore block came in today also. We got the sonic tests done and 360ci is not an option. About as big as you can go is a .020 over so I'm going a little back and doing a .015 over to be safe. We figure this should end up being about 342ci and that's about the safe limit for this block.
Didn't make the 360ci I was hoping for but a 342ci ain't too shabby either...[8D]
Got the cams, pistons, rods, and crank being built right now so in about 2-3 weeks, I'll start having pics and write-ups of the build.

glad to hear change is coming in the bump sticks, which company is making them? do they have any idea how much bigger than stock they are going to go with em? from your previous stance im guessing they must be thinking big to sway your opinion.
and btw, when your a test mule like this do you get your cams for free?
