I heard the magnetic ones scratch the paint.........true? I am looking into getting a blackout in the spring to spice up the rear end a little bit. Not too sure about the flat or glossy look. What do you think would look better on a vista blue?

I think the Silverhorse Racing Honeycomb one is the way to go.
It is flat black and matches the front honeycomb grill really well.
I've seen the other ones on Roush's at Ford dealerships and can see the paint color around the gas cap and/or poor fitment, with the edges not lining up evenly on both sides of the piece.
The glossy look is good for show but will scratch after normal use.

I got this one through our sponsor:

One thing I have noticed with mine is that the color doesn't really show through all that much. But I have seen it on others where they didn't line it up evenly around the "gas cap" and it stands out. A guy I work with has the CDC version with the cap removed and it looks pretty good too. When he comes back next week (if he wasn't laid off, we work at Chrysler), I'll snap a picture of them side by side.

Good thread at just the right time for me. I have the decal (from Balt) and now am not sure if I want to put iton or get a mag panel. I think the panel may look better cause it makes the area flush across the taillights rather than recessed. Justmyopinion tho.

I'm also worried about the mag panel scratching - nobody really answered this I don't think - anyone?

If anyone's interested in buying my blackout decal pm me.

Are there any water issues with the blackouts? Can water get in near the GT badge and than sit in there?

From one white GT/CS owner to another, use a flat black vinyl one. I have no gaps anywhere, and no bubbles with a self install that took about 2 hrs, but I went very slow just to be sure. I think I ordered from american muscle, and it costed me $20

Just look at the results

I say def. a blackout panel, my personal prefernce is the CDC one w/ horizontal lines going across. I will upload a picture when i get home from school and show you like I have.
