Default iPod adaptor for 05-06 w/ shaker 500

Does anyone know if they have made a new ipod adaptor for the 05-06 s197s with the shaker 500/1000 (6 disc changer) that won't cause the electrical system to go nuts? I heard that Peripheral electronics was trying to come up with a solution for this, but never heard if the problem was solved. Any other brands that you guys have that hasn't caused the electrical problems? I'm tired of getting the bad disc message.

I have the iSimple setup, which is basicly the Peripheral Electronics kit in a box with a different name and at a cheaper price.
I have had it for 5 months the only single issue I ever had was that the iPod stop responding.
I just had to hard reboot it, put it back in the unit and it was fine.

What are these electrical issues you speak of?

Where did you get your iSimple from? And on their website I can't find a Ford one that says it is compatible with our car?

I got it from Bestbuy's website for $99, but it appears to be sold out now.

The install was simple, I put my in the center console.
Just pop the radio out put the unit in behind it and hook per the directions.
I removed my 1/8" audio jack and ran the cable into the center console, though with an 05 you wont have that.
Search around Crutchfield.com's website for directions on taking the console apart, it took me about an hour and a half to do the install.

I found this on ebay.

There has been a few threads on here of people that installed the ipod adaptors and getting crazy electrical problems with the dash cluster and such. When they uninstalled the ipod adaptor the problems went away. I remember reading an article sent out by periperal (I think) saying that they had removed the product from stores and were trying to find a solution because of all the complaints.

+1 on the peripheral screwing up the electronics... I had one installed and it worked for a day, then I got inside my car in the morning and all my dash lights came on when I started the car. Low oil pressure, check engine light, parking brake ect... I took it back and had it uninstalled and all the problems went away. I went back to best buy and returned it for a full refund.

I sent back my old peripheral and they sent me the new isimple unitthat I just installedin the 06 yesterday. I had all the electrical issues with the old one too. So far no issues with this one, but only time will tell. The only thing I don't like about this one,you can't split the signial to run your XM like the old peripheral unit. I'll update results aftera few weeksof use.

Hmm interesting.
I have never had a single issue so maybe there was a firmware upgrade over something and I got lucky.
