I got my SCT and now I need the cables to download from the computer. you guys get your cables from radio shack? ANy specific part numbers for the cables so i dont go on a wild goose chase? thanks

 

You should have gotten a USB cable with the tuner. If you don't have one, yes, a Radio Shack cable will work just fine. Get the one with an A connector (the kinda flat one that you see most often) on one end and a B connector (it looks almost square on the end instead of a flat rectangle) on the other end. These are sometimes called a "device cable" and are used for a lot of printers.

 

yea i didnt get one. you need a power cable to upload tunes off your computer right? I think i'll just make a trip over to radio shacke and hope they have what i need. The reason i asked was because I remember Diablo knew the part numbers at radio shack that i would need

 

Yeah its a regular USB cable with an A connector. When you connect it to your laptop/desktop and plug in the SCT Xcal, it should power up the Xcal. Good luck.

 

oh, so it powers up when you plug it into the computer? my diablo had to have a seperate power source

 

yep, just loaded my new tune on sct xcal 2 yesterday. Powers up soon as connected.

 

Yep, it powers itself off of USB. BTW, another reason for having the USB cable is that if you have a laptop, you can download software from SCT, then you hook the SCT to your car and then connect it to your laptop. You run the software, and you can capture live data from your car's computer. Like the one below where I was getting it to graph my speed and RPM vs time so I could time my 0-60 time.
