[sm=headbang.gif] ... another oil thread... Oy vey.
Amsoil, Royal Purple, Redline and Mobil1 are some of the oils favored on the forum. Just be sure to match it up with a decent filter. PERSONALLY, I use the full synthetic to extend my oil change frequency (use the search before a thread war starts on THAT topic) but I consider the oil filter to be the more limiting factor.
However, there's nothing wrong with the Motorcraft synthetic blend that Ford puts in our Stangs.

RE: what type of oil?
just to liven up an otherwisemundane which oil should I use post - over on another forum there is a discussion as to whether using oil other than Motorcraft will screw up the variable cam timing in our cars. Anyone care to chime in on that?

RE: what type of oil?
I've done a LOT of research on the function of the variable valve timing system and it appears that it is more oil "pressure" sensitive than sensitive to oil weight. Granted, a heavier weight oil will increase oil pressure but if you stay within a 20-40 weight I don't think it's going to affect the system. Personally I'd stick with a 0/5w20-0/5w30.
