For an auto I think this is a good deal. Just make sure you do NOT want the stick.

If I could find one here for that price, I would already own one! Here new they are at least $30,000 new for a similar one.

Not a good deal at all..Invoice is around 26,700 and there is around $1,000 to $1500 in rebates available depending where you live. Also, does the dealer want a "dealer fee" or admin fee at the bottom of the purchase sale?/ the fee is around $300-$500 and is pure BS.

So, I'd offer them $25,000-$25,200 and not pay more than $50 for the dealer fee.

If they bitch, tell them you will consider using the bank they represent as long as the rate is competitive. The dealership gets a spiff from the bank for using them and then a holdback from Ford so they make money. Remember folks, a car is a commodity and the ONLY true thing a dealer has to compete on is price. Why pay more than you should; heck, most of us get stuff at Walmart rather than paying 30-50% more for the same exact item at a different store. That means that they (dealer)need to keep their costs low in order to sell at lower prices. If you buy the car 100 miles away to save $500- $1,000 your local dealers service dept will still service it; they have to or else Ford will take action against them.

Of course, personally, I'd save more money and get the car with a manny so i walk out the door with more HP to the wheels and use that money for mods. By the way, that color is killer

So your saying $25,700 isnt a good deal at all, but that $25,200 is a better deal. You are talking about $500 on a $25 grand purchase

I am many others had to pay $30K + when the mustang first came out, deals like this were never heard of....honestly if this is the car you want, $25,700 is a great deal and I would take it, no one here is going to tell you that you got screwed by the dealer or that is way too much for the car

Good luck either way.

Howarmatt......that's exactly what I'm saying. Why give someone $500 more than you need to unless you need to relieve yourself of cash for some reason. The beautiful thing about sale price is the Buyer determines the selling price; don't believe me, look at the housing market today vs a few years ago. Honda Accord Coupes go for sticker price or $500 -$1000 over sticker because there is more demand than supply. With the Mustangs now, there is more supply than demand which is what is called a "buyers market". A vehicle purchase and for that matter a house purchase should never be emotional based. I'm sorry you paid $30k for your car. At the time, that was the going price. For the most part, due to market conditions, brand spanking new cars can be bought for less than what nada guide shows the value of a 1 year old stang. Nada guide will eventually adjust to market conditions as demand for the stang has gone down and to our favor, Ford is in a real battle to remain a viable company and needs to reduce prices to increase volume which is good for the consumer

So a short answer is...YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I would not pay what he was quoted

Will you be happy with an Auto, might want to hold out until you can get a similar deal on a Manual. It's a big expense and you don't want to have to second guess yourself. Killer deal though.
untill you drive a tuned auto I wouldnt be guessing what or what not he might be interested in....
to tell you the truth I like my tuned auto better than the last 5 or 6 stick shift cars I have owned
4 speeds 5 speeds 6 speed

25 grand is a sweet deal
but if you want a stick . hold out its just a bit longer till you get one
hope you can get the same deal...
