I thinkmost product stickersjust advertise what you have that may be worth stealing. Other than that, each to his/her own.

It's an ambitous thief to steal his mufflers. [:@]

I saw one the other day on a 2005 GT Vert. It Said.......HILLARY

I almost took one for the team and scratched it off.

OK, maybe all Mustang owners don't have more sense!

Ok...Here's my thoughts:

Club stickers = OK. They're best put in the rear quarterpanel window, or the back window where they don't obstruct your view, and shouldn't be gigantic.

Many Shelby GT350's/500's have Shelby Club stickers on their cars (usually on the wing window, for the 60's era Shelbys) and I think those look good.

Putting a sticker on your car of a part you bought = BAD. You're simply advertising to all the little ricers out there that you've modded your car and are proud of it, and around here in So Cal, they think they can do ricer flybys on your car to show off (and I think all of us know what those are like). It's like saying, "Hey! I made my car big and bad! Wanna take me on so I can spank you?"

If you're sponsored, great, put the sticker on...I did that for a year with a Saturn Motorsports sticker on my old car. But then, I was sponsored, and they were giving me some parts for my car in exchange for being a rolling billboard on the freeway and on the autocross track...

Ultimately, it comes down to your preference. If you really want to do it, go for it. BUT, make sureyou clean the glass REALLY well, don't use any oils/polishes on the glassbefore you put down your sticker. And, when you put it on, rub it down with a rolling pin or something similar to get any bubbles out. Any air will cause lift, any curl along the edges will cause lift...It's a pain in the butt to have to get new stickers made or picked up from the sponsor every few months/weeks because dirt/contaminants got underneath it and caused it to lift.

I agree, but at the same time, a small sticker is better than a window banner...

I have a 2"x4" Mustang Club of San Diego "sticker" in the lower right corner of my windshield. It's "static cling", no hassle, no residue, hasn't 'lifted' in the ten months it's been there. That's my idea of a reasonable use of stickers.

I have envelopes full of actual 60s and 70s stickers that came with parts and accessories I bought or was given. People pay money for those things (see eBay). I didn't put them on my cars then, because I liked the way my cars looked without them. Wait; I did put a Holley and an STP sticker in the back side window of my Judson-supercharged Morris Minor 1000 Traveller (woodie wagon). The Judson sucked through a Holley, and STP was cool (1965). I never expected anyone to take either of them as anything but a joke.

I put some stickers on my toolboxes, but even that looked tacky to me, so when they wore off a bit, I took them off.

Ansen Sprints' stickers are attractive, but there are the wheels, right out there where you can see them, and if you are interested, you can probably identify them without being told. Didn't make much sense to me. I got Racers Discounts on parts from Performance World, and from an MG dealer or two. Their stickers were tasteful and small. I entered an IMSA race, and they required certain gaudy stickers, or you didn't get on the course. The products people wanted their stickers on your car, and if you won something or even showed up good, they'd pay, but you had to swear you used their stuff. "I swear that odor is hot Valvoline, not Castrol"! Uh-uh.

Lots of tension about stickers; they are meaningful, but my choice is almost always, "Not unless I have to".

If I had a Ford Racing Performance Products muffler (I do!) and wanted everyone to know that was my choice, and if Mr FRPP had given me a small, tasteful sticker, I might be tempted to post it in my rear window. Where almost no one would see it, since I seldom go out with the top up.

Otherwise, if I were sticker-prone, I might put them inside the trunk lid; I've seen discussions like this where the near-consensus was the inside of the trunk lid is the right place for stickers. I'm not sticker-prone, so I put big ol' patches of reflective tape inside my trunk lid; the better to see me if I'm stopped by the side of the road at night.

Any road, I did have one 5"x7" sticker I put on every race car I've run. I cut it out of the bottom of a frozen cake box:
I AM UPSIDE DOWN
PLEASE TURN ME OVER
It always went on the flat part under the driver seat. That was a good sticker.

These were real popular at one time, everyone had them on the front fender just behind the front wheel.

I kinda wish more companies would do the static cling for "stickers" like this...Most static clings are reusable, but I guess they're also more expensive...And you're right, the static cling style don't lift. Even if they did, you usually just have to move it around a bit and it'll stick right back on there with a little bit of soap to clean it off and make it sticky again.

I put them on my blasting cabinet, all of the Summit/Jegs/Flowmaster/Magnaflow etc. that I got from various car shows. Looks kinda tacky as well, but they're on a blasting cabinet in my garage that most people won't see.

I see those as bumper stickers on Jeeps and other rock crawlers now, only it's usually put on the bumper upside down as a joke...Some stickers I miss.
