I am getting a CAI/tune within a few weeks. Whatis the differences between a performance and a race tune. I know that I get three free tunes....and I was originally thinking about getting 87,91,93 performance....but if the race tune is good I may toss out the 91 tune and get a 93 race. Any advantages...how much more gas does it burn (not a huge issue...but you know the deal)

yes, atleast try the race tune....its a little more pull in the lower rpms than the performance tune......and yes, dougs tunes above 3k are something that cant be described in words[8D]
dougs race tune is the performance tune with a very touchy throttle. there is a slight difference but thats the main difference.

if i were you i would go with a 93 torque, and 93 race, and a n 89 performance just incase you get a bad batch of gas you can go down the the lower octane tune but still haul a$$ on the streets.

since my dyno tune with doug my car has gotten better gas milage.

is there a huge difference in gas mileage between dougs tunes?? i think i'm gonna buy the race tune......but not if i get 8mpg. and just to confirm.....it will pull harder down low than the performance right?

dougs tune pulls hard. period. i couldnt be happier with the tune on my car. then again we had mine there on the dyno and he was playing with it for a while so its going to be different. if u want a tune that pulls very hard down low get the 93 torque tune. if u want one of the best tunes out there, again imo, i say go for the race tune. i have been in a gt with brenspeed 93 tune, and it feels very strong as well but i havnt gotten to a chance to ride in a bamatuned gt. only my v6. u wont be dissapointed with dougs tunes. period. if u would like more info feel free to pm. ill try to help u out as much as possible

Well, Doug sent me his race tune today. Oh my Lord......it was awesome. Some of you may remember me complaining when i installed my jlt/brenspeed combo about the car not waking up like i thought. Well, no more whining from me. Don't get me wrong, Brenspeed is an awesome company....maybe all stangs are different and Doug's tunes just mesh with my car better, i don't know. all i know is a little tap on the throttle and my car roars through the entire rpm band. I, like most, can recommend both companies......but for now i'm afraid Doug won me over!!

the race tune is great, a little much for a daily driver here in NY so i use my torque tune. The race tune is put in whenever I get the chance

Just out of curiosity, why do you think the race tune is too much for a daily driver in the city?
I will be ordering a CAI/tune soon and I'm trying to pick up all the info that I can. Most of my driving is done in the city also..Thanks
