MGW Shifter is in

MGW Shifter is in
I spent the afternoon putting in my new MGW short throw shifter! The install was pretty much a breeze, even with just jackstands (would have been twice as fast with a lift I think).
I used TacoBill's write-up and didn't even look at the MGW included instructions - companies should hire this guy to write their install manuals! One small thing I'd recommend is putting some masking tape on the E-brake handle when trying to maneuver the console off and on. I put a very small scratch on the handle wrestling the console back on.
Overall it was a great, complete kit. I was just missing one lock washer for the connecting rod assembly, hopefully not an issue since I didn't have any handy.
I went with the MGW black cue ball one-piece handle (same as rubrigintz I believe). Too bad I can't drive the car for another few months! The short throw is incredible and very positive shifts! I went 10 turns out for about 50% throw reduction.
Will try to get some pics posted soon....

I love my MGW shifter but just a word of warning, if you still have the stock shict boot, it will wear where the corners of the shifter block rub against the boot. If you just installed it, you may want to apply some black duct tape to the inside of the shift boot where it makes contact with teh shifter block. Dor me its too late, I have some holes in the shift boot. I just ordered some redline leather boots and I'm going to be applying black tape to those as well just to make sure they last longer.

acstone - MGW just recently started offering a one-piece shift handle with either a black or white cue ball. So there is no threading required, the ball is basically attached or one with the shifter.
I don't think it's even on the MGW website yet. I was planning on going with a Hurst ball but canceled that idea when I saw the MGW ball!
