Default Unknown Alert Going Off

Hi y'all! I have a question... Starting yesterday after work, my car was beeping on and off the whole way home, but I didn't get a light on the dash signifying what it is. I checked the gas cap, doors, trunk, brake, etc. Everything seemed ok, but I usually get a warning light for those anyways. I did notice this morning when it was doing it again on my way to work, that the Passenger Airbag light was off (indicating that there is someone in the seat) even though there wasn't. So I'm thinking there is an error making it thing there is a passenger not wearing their seat belt. I would normally get a seatbelt light for that if this was the case???

Sit in the seat when it happens, then get out the car, and see if it goes away

Doesn't the passenger airbag light come on and say "airbag off"only when something or someoneis in the seat under the specific weight?

Plug the seat belt in on the passenger side. See if the beep goes away!

Any airbag problem SHOULD give you a light, but you never know. When you turn the car on, make sure you see the airbag light come on for a few seconds and then make sure it goes off.

It might also be a good idea to open the passenger kick panel and check the #17 fuse and make sure it's good. That's the airbag system fuse.

I've had the airbag off light on with someone in the seat and didn't get any beeps. This may sound stupid, but you DID check your cell phone and any other electronics you carry, didn't you? LOL!

Do you carry a laptop or gym bag in the passenger seat? I've had that happen when I carry something there that trips the sensors. I think it gets confused not knowing iof there's a person there.

Thanks for all the responses. I should clarify a bit more....

Yesterday night, I had my purse, jacket and a bag sitting on the passenger seat. The Passenger Airbag OFF light was not ON. So that may be why it was beeping to indicate the passenger to put on their seatbelt. But usually the light comes on as well when that is the case. This morning, I didn't put anything on the seat at all. The Passenger Airbag OFF light still didn't come on and I got the beeping as well. I might go with checking the fuse first, sounds like a possible fix-it situation...hopefully
