Default Stroker / Tune question

If I were to put, say a stroker kit in my car so that it displaces 302ci, would I be able to get a brenspeed/bama typ tune for it?

just wondering

+1 You would have to drive it to brenspeed and let them put it on there dyno.

definately not a mail order type tune. would need to account for new spark/ignition timing i would imagine(since it takes longer for teh piston to travel up and down-just guessing here) and account for new compression ratio assuming you change it

1) Get a dyno tune
2) If you're going stroker, go 298 rather than 302. FordFanBoy wrote about this a while ago. The 302 can cause knock problems.
3) It usually isn't worth the gains to get a stroker as it is so pricey.

The compression ration was done low, I believe it was a 9.5- just in case I wanted to fo FI.
9.5:1 isn't that low for F/I. actually the stock engine has a 9.8:1 CR.335rwhp indeed lower than expected for these mods. check your A/F ratio. BTW, do you still use the stock injectors? if you do change 'em the stock ones won't handle a stroker with Heads/Cams.
Ditto - I am 8.4:1 with -8 lines, #60 injectors, summit cop's, and the GT500 dual pumps with extra harness and DM...

I also now have a 298ci. I had the 302 on the last motor but swapped to the 298 this time and it is WAY better IMO. I have the knock sensors now and the car runs all around better at 298. In fact, I have no slap at all now and the car idles and runs smooth as stock. The knock sensors are VERY important to keep and why most of the major shops recommend that you go with 298 ci.

Ummm, it seems like some of you guys are under the impression that I got a 5.0 stroker kit...[&:]

I didn't[:@]

I was just wondering what would be needed to tune it IF I did get one

I figured I'd need a dyno tune, I just thought I might get lucky [8D]

Do a search for 302 stroker ... the price/performance ratio usually isn't worth it unless you are doing it to completely build your motor anyways and supercharging, etc.
