RE: Cam Covers Painted
How much did that cost if you don't mind me asking? My only concern, besides getting dirt in my engine by removing them, is not getting them sealed correctly when I reinstall them. There's a couple of spots you have to put gasket maker on.

I am in the process of doing the EXACT same thing. I ordered a set off ebay and I'm going to clean and paint those so I don't have any down time on my stang.
Just curious, what decals are you going to be putting on?

I used two spots of permatex on the rubber gromets towards the front of the heads.......really not that difficult of a job, need an extra set of hands to hold back all the wiring, but they went right on and I tightened the covers to spec 89 in pounds of torque....also keep in mind they must have changed up the covers since the original 05 S197's as Taco Bills Covers had more bolts than mine did. The holes are tapped into the heads for the bolts but my covers do not have the holes or the bolts for them....unless that is an FRPP Cam Cover thing. I'm not sure.
Oh yeah the project ran me 53 dollars for the Paint job, 2 dollars for 2 decals, and 6 bucks for a tube of permatex black.

i didn't use any gasket maker when re-installing mine. the factory seal is one piecere-usable rubber that sits inchannel in the cover.Mine sealed back up with no issues and no sealer.
