Sorry, cheft, I have 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars in 255/45/18 in the shed waiting to get on my new rims, 18x8.5 silver flangeless bullitts!



UrS4, Wouldn't 285's stick way out in the front? I've never seen anyone run 285's in front.

heh, I have a set of the same tires on the new rims, waiting for winter to be over. 285 in the rear tho.


on a 50mm offset with 275/40's they will rub on tight turns. the 38 or 40mm offset sure will be close with 285 up front.

That's why I think the 275/45/18 is a good size all around...if it doesn't rub. It's wide without being too wide, and it fills up the fender well because it's taller than stock. Another thing to consider is that the profile of a 275/45/18 is 4.87", which is about .38" taller than a 285/40/18. So your tires will look a little meatier than a 285.

BTW, Stoenr, I got the idea for the Supercars from your pics in your CT-R post. I can't wait to get them on. I was out of town for a couple of weeks after Christmas, and then I got sick last Friday and am just now beginning to recover. Hopefully I will get them mounted in a week.

I think the 275 is a good size also if not rubbing, and should fit on the stock 18's ok

Stoenr, you also gave me some info on camber bolts on that thread.

Here's what I plan to do:

Install my Roush front springs/struts.
Buy camber bolts.
Get a friend with a truck to meet me at the Goodyear place with my new rims and new tires.
Get my stock 17's removed and get the tire pressure sensors transferred to my new 18" rims (I bought the bands from American Muscle).
Get my new tires mounted and balanced on the new rims.
Get my new rims/tires put on the car and let them adjust my camber with the camber bolts.


Does this sound right, or do I install the camber bolts myself when I install my struts? I'm not knowledgeable on the workings of camber bolts, so I don't know if it's something adjustable or if it's just a bolt with a preset, fixed camber adjustment that just need to be installed.

Any input on this is greatly appreciated.

I'm allowed to hijack my own thread, right?

Ok, great! How about if they install my springs/struts for me? Does Goodyear do that? That would make my life a little easier, I think.

The 275 will fit just fine on a 9.0" rim and the 285 should have a 10" rim. My buddy has275 on the front with 9'0's and 305/35 on the rear with 10.5's looks cool. Probably could do 285 on a 9 but not recommended.

I have asked the 285 question on the fronts on many forums and everyone who is running a 285 tire in the front, which is not many, say it doesn't rub provided your offset is not 50mm. A 45mm and better yet a 40mm offset is perfect for the front and they will be flush with the fender.

By the way, everyone that isn't running a 285 on the fron says it can't be done, but I trust the guys that actually run the tire up front and have pictures to prove it.

yeah warmachine, most do. If you dont mind paying for it.



The offset, like you said, has alot to do with it. I cant imagine the the "road steer" those wide tires on the front would give you.
