Default Check ups? Wut do u do? The Car Dr. is in!

hi guys!
i just did a search and ended up with mediocre results, so i thought i'd make a new post about an issue that i've been wondering about: regular maintenance. it is my fervent wish to avoid the stealership as long as humanly possible, but in order to make that happen, i'm obviously going to have to take care of a few maintenance issues myself.

that being said, WHAT ROUTINES DO YOU TYPICALLY UNDERGO TO ENSURE YOUR PONY RIDES SMOOTHLY? monthly things to check? yearly things to check? fluids, belts, etc.? what does a newb need to know about regular maintenance? [8D]

bump...
I think this is something that would be useful for many of us on this forum. Especially considering that the stealership usually charges several hundred dollars for the first "big" service. And all of the stuff they do, we could probably do equally as well.

Check your manual, it will tell you what your needs.

I will say though if you have more then 20k on your car change your fuel filter. the first day back it feels like new again. Also change out the cabin filter, and air filter, or people with tunes. clean it.

I have the 5000 mile checklist the
Stealershipdid.
Or supposedly did. A$$ munches.
I'll try and get a pic of it posted.
Check the owners Scheduled Maintenance
Guide that came with your stang. Its behind
the vehicle owners manual in the nice black
zippered Ford owners literature holder.
This is sometimes in the glove box located
on the passengers side of the dash by your
knees when sitting insidethe stang.
Or maybe its in the center console located
to the rear of the shifter in the region just
below your elbow when you are driving.
There are latches that need to be depressed
before these storage spaces will open. Your
Stealership can help you access these storage
areas if you find them to difficult to open.
Latches can be tricky.
