going to test drive a Shelby GT

going to test drive a Shelby GT
I currently own a 2005 GT, in Satin Silver with the red leather interior package, totally stock automatic.
took it in for some warranty work today and saw some of the Shelby GT's on the lot.
The price doesn't look bad, and I've been wanting a Manual for a while.
I've read about the Shelby and it sounds like it's just overall a little nicer than my car, but not significantly better in any way.
is it worth it to trade my stang in?

You probably won't get crap for yourt GT, and will have negative equity(provided you are still paying your GT off) and have higher payments on a new Shelby GT. If you have the money, go for it.

I'll admit that the allure of the Shelby is strong. I looked at one myself, and there are days where I wish I would have gone for it. But that having been said, after the markup, etc., they wanted for it, it wasn't worth it for me. The MSRP on the Shelby was actually less than the MSRP on the Stang that I currently own...but after markup they wanted around $8K more. No thanks (JMO).
I figured this way, I get a convertible, and with well less that $8K, I can match a Shelby GTs power and handling. With my CAI & Tune, I've probably got the power one covered already.
Again, JMO. Like I said, there are times that I really wish I had the Shelby, but as someone who uses the Stang as a DD (at least until next winter, that is) and hates having to "use" it everyday, rather than play with it on special days, I can only imagine how much more I would have felt that way with the Shelby.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
Cheers!

your payments will be around 500ish a month, if not more due to the fact of the marktet price increase, and how much down, and of course, your trade in amount. I'd say between 500-600 bucks a month.

ford racing suspension and aftermarket cai with tune and you will have the same setup as a shelby for a ton less

I test drove one before ordering my GT. It's a great package, but overpriced for what you get. Unless you seriously want an official Shelby car, it's not worth it. And the hood scoop is... questionable....
My car will soon be a step ahead of the Shelby GT for a lot less $$$.

I would say closer to $750.00 a month. I am guessing the Shelby GT is going for around $36,000 assuming they give you $4,000 less than you owe, you're financing around $40,000 at 3.9% for 60 months it's around 750.00

You can do the math yourself based upon what markup they're putting on the Shelby, but I'm thinking you're looking around $700/mo as well...it all depends on what you're getting the Shelby for. The one I saw in August was shown as over $40,000 after markup.
