Thumping noise when turning!

Thumping noise when turning!
OK, here is the issue. I have a thumping noise when making a right or left turn. Not a gentle turn, more like turning sharply around a street corner. Speed doesn't play into it too much. Sounds like something loose,in the trunk hitting the fender, but I took everything out, including the trunk floor liner. Nothing in there except the spare tire and jack and they are secured tightly. Any ideas?

Yep, upper strut mounts can make noise but that clunk comes from the front.
I had mine replaced on my 05 GT at about 17k miles. The noise had been around for some time before I had them replaced.
I now have something else making an occasional clunk but much better than it was.
