Doesnt matter to me what anyone else does to their car. I just want to throw a scenario out there...say the guyhas a dream one day to own a GT500 but could only afford a GT so he buys the GT...over time he spends money to make the GT look more and more like his dream car...its really not that bad guys, ease up a little

Then, he would be following down the path of a clone. I have NO issues with cloners.

Ya know - I used to be hard on the 'poser' and 'tribute' cars as well but then really thought about exactly as you described and then didn't think one way or the other after that. I guess the moral is that as long as you are happy with your car then who really cares what anyone else thinks?

You're right. Why should they care what we think? I sure don't. We are just a bunch of bits interacting.

The owner of that stang obviously is not a member of the MF...because we know better, don't we...?
Uhhhhhhhh...

Actually no. I made it very clear to everyone that I have a simple V6. However, I'm STRONGLY thinking of a GTCS/GT500 front end + rear end. I make the ridiculously high monthly payments, I pay for the ridiculously expensive gas tanks, and I pay for the ridiculously expensive parts. It's my car and I do as I like (as an example) but I make it known that the car is a mere V6. Not that I'm entirely PROUD of that fact, but whatever. At 19 living on your own, what else can you afford...

I don't get it ... the same people that say "Why would you get a Shelby or GT500 when it is just a GT with some different parts and a bigger price tag" are the same people that then bust on people that bought the GT and are buying the extra parts cheaper to make their dream car.

It just makes no sense to me.

It's his car, perhaps he was doing a clone? Even if he wasn't, he's doing what he wanted with the car for cheaper than buying it from the dealer just like we all tell people to do.

Exactly. I would however upgrade my GT with Ford parts that were available as options or upgrades. I'm all about staying originalish.
