Default RE: Did I get a good deal?

ORIGINAL: Whitey_McNasty

I ordered mine for $26,545 and the dealer told me that they were planning on increasing the price of the GTs between $3000 and $5000 on top of MSRP. They said they were doing this because Ford recommended that they do it and other dealerships were doing it as well.

I know this may sound screwed up but; I wish they would increase the price through the roof. That way there will be less people buying them which means fewer on the streets and it would mean that Ford would be able to keep up with production. But I say that because I already have mine ordered and my price locked in.

My Price = $26,545
My Car = GT, Mineral Gray, IUP w/ MyColor, Dark Charcoal / Red Leather, Manual, Stock Radio (being replaced), Stock 17" Wheels (being replaced).

Also sold my 02 V6 for $10,000 and received $800 tax credit on my new 05 GT. I could have gotten more for my '02 but I was selling it to a friend.
More dealer BS....Ford told them to raise the price to $3K-$5K over MSRP? Again, dealer BS! All the dealers are doing it? More dealer BS. THere are plenty of us who have made a deal under MSRP.

Granted, we're getting into the "hot selling season" for sports cars right now. So, deals may be harder to come by since many dealers are totally sold out of at least convertible and GT allotments.
