Just a quick note on the cost: most long tube headers, catted mid-pipe and install is going to run you in the neighborhood of $2K. They provide roughly 30 HP with proper tune. So...it's not that different. 2K or less for a CAM install seems like an ok mod to me. Plus that sound is put pleasure.

Alot of people can do the install on LT's and Mid-pipes, CAMS on the other hand... not so much. LT+Catted X = $1300.

I use Fastlane locally (Houston) for tuning. I went from 306rwhp to 350 rwhp (350 @ 6500rpm).

WoW thats pretty good. Any way you can hit 400rwhp N/A? Do you have any sound clips of your cams?

400 rwhp can be done, but it's not easy,and I'd definitely need bigger heads (mine are stock). Nick at Fastlane thinks I would probably hit around 385+/- rwhp with a good set of heads.

IMO...Cams with a 3v 281 cu/in stock longblock are worthless and a sound only mod. Show me track times not dyno #'s

id like to suggest bbr cams thay sound really good, comp cams arent as agressive as i like but im not sure about what it will do for FI

See my previous post. Comp has the baddest cams out for FI stroker motors with a little modification...

Oh - and I agree cams are not worth the money for N/A in my opinion. Bigger cubes and loads of psi and now you are talking cams making a serious difference...

My car ran 10.31 @ 130 mph when my dyno was 540 rwhp...[8D] Any of you dyno queens want to tackle that? lol

Oh yeah - stock cams BTW...

YEP...

Just how good are stock? Well the world record is currently held by Justin with the stock cams...

I didn't even think about cams until I went for big cubes.

Well the RPM band of the 3v is excellant.. I'd get cams if I could squeese 7900RPM's out of the damn thing...But that aint the case. Hell ford did their homework on these motors..Compcams tries to lure in the "gearheads" with this junk and all they do is help with the quiet lope of the 3v.. I could almost say bs to the 40whp claim because its a solid number and even brenspeed claims like 36 or 38hp with other bolt ons not cams alone..
