I have a chance to get some gt500 takeoffs, would this do anything different to the sound over stock untill i can get something aftermarket?

 

It's the same one on the automatic GT's.

 

i thought they used the GTA's?..if so it would be louder im sure

 

The GTA's are on the Shelby GT.

 

I believe the Shelby GT500 has the same mufflers as the GT, so you would be wasting your money. IIRC the GT500 has an X-pipe instead of the H found in the regular GT, which makes the exhaust a bit smoother, and a tad louder at WOT from my experience (I have a similar setup on my car, currently stock mufflers + FRPP X-pipe.)

The Shelby GT on the other hand has FRPP GTA mufflers with FRPP X-pipe, but it's a different beast than the GT500.
