Default First time Ever at the track

So i brought my car to Houston Raceway on Sunday. Pretty embarrassing because i just fishtailed and i dont know why(i was REALLY close to hitting the wall). am I suppose to take the car to the track on the 20's( i have a Saleen 3 Valve) or do i have to buy smaller wheels with some meat on the tires? Also Im auto and i took traction control off, am i suppose to do that? Sorry but Im a HUGE newb at tracking....... Heres a vid with me next to a Z06.

BTW i only have C&L race CAi and 93 BAMA race tune, nothing fancy.

I fishtail a lot. It takes practice. I have a manual, so my launches are different... I launch around 2500 RPM. I still fishtail some. I would ditch the 20's at the track...and get some slicks, but you'll need to get some safety equipment (driveshaft safety loop) to be safe.

The more you race, the better you get, but don't expect to be John Force your first time out!

I think there was a shop that tried to prove the 20's could be driven at the track, but I think their car had a supercharger and some other mods...personally I wouldn't be driving on 20's at all...lol...but thats just me the more times you go the better you get at it...it just takes practice...

It just takes practice. You will greatly improve as you go more often. Feather that gas off the line. Yeah 20s aren't the best thing for drag racing, but it's not like you can't do it either. Pretty much everyone spins like crazy their first time, inexperience and nervousness. My first time, I probably moved my car 4 ft down the track with all of first gear, just spinning like crazy.
