Koni Struts Recalled

Anyone else been contacted by Koni?

Purchased mine this month from LTB Motorsports. Koni rep called me and they are sending me replacements and paying for the install.

Ack! I just put in my order with Hotparts this week. Need to make sure I'm getting the 'good' ones.

Thanks for the heads up! Did Koni say the reason for the recall?

They were concerned that a certain batch has a faulty weld. Not the shocks, just front struts.

Did they say when the replacement units would be available? I've been wanting to order these, but a little bird told me of the issue and suggested I wait on it..

Part# 8741 1494 Sport

Weld missing on sway-bar bracket in production process on some units. Produced prior to week 43, 2007.
Proper units have 6 welds. Units with issues are missing the weld nearest the spring seats and can be seen with front wheels removed. Without weld, sway bar bracket may break.

They are shipping replacement to me ASAP.
