I read they had 20 REAL GT500 at their disposal. and as someone pointed out a year ago, the cost to clone the car would be way more than just getting the actual car.

You guys have to remember nearly all sound effects you hear in a movie DO NOT come from the actual filming moments... Instead they are digitally inserted in a studio either with computers or with actual materials meant to clearly recreate sounds. In this case, its all computer inserted into the movie after the movie is filmed.

Sounds stock from inside shots, a bit louder than stock from outside, but you can see the stock mufflers from one of the shots. They probably remixed the track to make it sound a bit beefier/more animal than stock.

They could have just put a cutout picture of a GT500 on a popsicle stick and moved it around and I would still probably go "That's cool!" Then again, I am told that I am easily entertained. Still, the car looks sweet.
