Do you use mp3 cd's in your headunit?

RE: Do you use mp3's in your headunit?
I have an Apple computer and use iTunes to burn mine. Just need to change the preferences from "music cd" to "mp3 cd" then drag the songs from your library to a playlist and right-click then click "burn playlist to disk".
iTunes is free also...check it out.
I have used a couple different types of media and have had no problems. I am currently using the run-of-the-mill Imation. Like I said I havn't had any problems.

I have about 35 CD's loaded into the first 3 slots of my changer. I took the time to rip my entire collection and I occasionally burn a new disk and swap one of them out.
A really good write up is available at :

The instructions work like a charm! The only difference I did was I used Media Player to rip my CD's, and I burned them thru My Computer.

I used itunes to burn mine. Easy to do. I have an iPod so much of my music was there already.
For a quick trip, i dont even bother to bring the ipod or hook it up to the car since I have the mp3 cds.

I could never figure out how to burn my cd's onto my computer and turn them into mp3 format. I could only use windows media player to burn in regular format..like 16 songs max on a cd. Any ideas?

much easier program to use and burn CD's / MP3's
you just drag the files you want into a playlist and select if you want to burn in CD or MP3 format.

You don't need any software to make mp3 CD's. It's drag 'n drop.
I make folders labeled with the bands name and drop all the songs into
them. Click on write files to CD...done! Now if you have to rip/convert
them from a CD...that's a differrent story...Windows Media player will
work, but it's very slow. Nero works real fast.
