Brand new shifter? Sure feels like it!
So, a number of months ago i had the pro 5.0 shifter installed - huge improvement over stock, great throws, notchey feel - i love it. as time went by, however, it got rattley and started to wear a hole in my boot. to remedy this issue, i did a few things:1. ordered a new boot, ebrake boot, and console cover from http://www.redlinegoods.com/2. bought some blue locktite, and 3. ordered shifter gaskets from http://www.stangshiftergaskets.com/ just last night i installed everything.
WOW, whata difference!
first of all, the leather is gorgeous and majorly improves the interior's look (i know this post is "useless without pics"; i'm at work and will post pics as soon as i can); i HIGHLY recommend redline goods, especially the ebrake boot - that thing is so awkward and weird looking stock [:'(]. second, the blue locktite definitely helped firm everything up, as did mounting the shifter arm on the right-hand side of the lower arm to avoid the "rub." and third, cobra bob's gaskets worked wonders for me. bottom line - buy some new leather and a set of gaskets people! you won't be disappointed!
