Tranny fluid
im changing my trans/diff fluid sunday and i picked up mobil one multi vehicle Synthetic ATF. It says its good for Mercon V and for ford vehicles 1988 and newer vehicles requiring MERCON fluid. So my 07 is newer than 1988 and requires MERCON so it should be A-OK. If not ill just sue mobil one and never work another day in my life
I know what Amsoil has done for me in my Caravan. I pulled my tow truck twice(7000lbs by itself) and a car or Blazer was hooked to it for several miles. Both times were going up a fairly steep hill as well. So figure 10000 lbs plus the van itself. Yeah, it struggled due to the 3.3L V6, but the notoriously weak trans in those has held up fine and its up to 87000mi now.
Thats what is going in the Stang once I get a new pan with dipstick. Amsoil claims a reduction of 30 degrees on average when using their fluid vs normal ATF.

I have Redline D4ATF in my '06GT (5 spd) right now, works great. I am getting ready to try Royal Purple Syncromax. I've read a lot of good things about it. Gotta get it from my living room floor into my tranny, hopefully soon.
