ya it just depends on the type of look you are trying to pull, how your car is put together, and what mods you have.......Roush made their kits 6" wide since there is a hood scoop and they wanted to keep the stripes just on top of the scoop to maintain a clean-cut look on the sides...each stripe is 6" in width with a 1" gap in the middle.....
if you didnt have a hood scoop, then you can go as wide as you want....

actually roush stripes are 6.5 inches, bfd, the idea is to make them small enough to fit between the hood scoop like one of you guys said, unlike shelby where the stripes are 10 inches and so they tend to bunch up in the hood scoops corners. but some people do think they are too small.

Ya i like my grille too.....the outer rim is of some type of flexible plastic so it wont crack and the mesh is metal....
as far as the actual roush stripes, yes they are 6.5" each....i had to use 6" width on mine so i could fit the 1/4" red pin stripe on the outer edge with a 1/4" gap between them and still be within my bounderies for stripe fitment on the scoop.....
and as far as some people not liking them, some people like 10" and or wider stripes, but i dont....some people have a windveil blue stang with 10" black lemans strips with a blue hood scoop, i think thats hideous.....it just depends on what YOU like...you are the one who pays the bill......
i, however, check to see what others think before i do any kind of visual modification so i KNOW it looks good to others as well and until this day, i have not had anyone dislike my car..you'll always have those a$$holes who will put you down, but what the MAJORITY thinks is what matters if you are looking for opinions........
