Default Noob question: Is the 8.8 Rear End strong enough to handle...

the 5.4, if the 5.4 would just be with CAI (for awhile)?

Also, are the GT and 5.4 parts interchangable? (mainly the driveshaft and headers)

I don't think the bulk of parts for the 4.6 and 5.4 are interchangable.

Mabey the dipstick.

But probably not.

Yes the 8.8 is very strong with its 31 spline axles, ford uses it with their 5.4 liter engine all the time.

Yes, it is strong enough for that. Most parts especially driveshaft (different tranny) and headers (different size heads) are not interchangeable.

Also, I don't know what year your car is, but they didn't put the 5.4 in the S197 until 2007.. I know there were some sheetmetal changes required under the hood that made the 2007 different from the 2005 and 2006 models... If I'm not mistaken, they had something to do with the strut towers, but I'm not certain on that.

Can anyone elaborate??

I have a 2007, but a V6. The rear end is already in and the bulk of the exhaust can be transferred over (just need new headers or I'll kep the stockers for a bit), so I think I got it all pretty much covered...but the car does need new mounts for the 5.4, right? If so, where can I get those.
